JBL LS80 Wins EISA Award
EISA (European Imaging and Sound Association) have just announced their winners, one of which was the JBL LS80 floorstanding speaker, which was chosen as European Speaker of the Year 2008-2009 in the “Audio & Home Theatre” category. The official quote from EISA outlines why the LS80 was chosen for this prestigious award.
“JBL is drawing on considerable heritage with this new, three-and-a-half way floorstanding loudspeaker. The LS80 is the largest model in a range sporting its proprietary horn-loaded compression driver and additional super tweeter. The two bass drivers cross over at different frequencies. Despite this complex array of transducers the sound of the LS80 is surprisingly coherent, balanced and natural. Furthermore, thanks to the speakers high power handling, high sensitivity and relatively easy load it is broadly compatible with a wide range of amplifiers.”

The JBL LS Series includes five models: the LS60 and LS80 floorstanding speakers, the LS40 bookshelf loudspeaker, the LS Centre dedicated centre channel loudspeaker; and the LS120P 300mm (12”), 400-watt, powered subwoofer.
