Introducing the All New Harman Kardon Product Range

Harman Kardon has announced the Australian release of the all-new range of home theatre components.  The line up is a strong mix of the design principles Harman Kardon has always adhered to, new technologies, outstanding design, product diversification, ease of use and sound quality making it the most technologically advanced Harman Kardon has presented in years.

The new range consists of a range of new components including; three AV receivers (two of which are 7.1-channel); two home cinema speaker systems, a Digital Media centre, a DVD player, a CD player, an integrated amplifier, a stereo receiver, an iPod® dock, satellite speakers and two multiroom products.

The 7.1 AV receivers offer HDMI™ 1.3a repeaters with audio processing, Faroudja DCDi Cinema™ video processing and upscaling of video signals to 1080p.  All three AV receivers, including the entry level 5.1 offer a minimum of three HDMI inputs and one output.

The Harman Kardon DMC 250 is a media player that handles audio and video type DVDs stored on CDs, memory cards or USB drives, and records from CDs or its line-level audio inputs to solid-state media or USB drives.  The DMC 250 makes it easy to transfer your favourite music from the home to a car or portable audio player, without the need for a computer.

The DVD 39 features progressive-scan DVD playback and can also play back compressed audio files (MP3, WMA) burnt on CDs or DVDs and with its DivX® Ultracompatible can display JPEG image files. The DVD 39 is equipped with an HDMI 1.2a output with upscaling to 1080p.  Thanks to its text-based Harman Kardon user menu, this player is very easy to use.  Furthermore, an integrated test screen helps the user to find and save the ideal colour settings for the connected TV or monitor.

Harman Kardon’s range of stereo products will see the long awaited introduction of their high-end 2.2-channel stereo integrated amplifier.  With its 2 x 150W High Current amplifier power and all its advanced technological features, this will add to their continuous success in the stereo market.

Harman Kardon has also developed a High Resolution Synchronisation Link, offering a full-digital connection between the new HD 990 CD player and the new HK 990 stereo integrated amplifier.  The result is a jitter free connection, similar to having the CD playback inside the amplifier.

Due to the success of Apple’s iPod and iPhone™, Harman Kardon has developed a second generation version of The Bridge.  The Bridge II allows all iPod, including the latest iPod Touch and iPhone to dock and play its audio and video files over the high current amplification of our receivers, whether these are AV or simply stereo.

Harman Kardon endorses the upcoming standby power consumption guidelines with most of the new components having power consumption in standby mode below 1W.  On top of that, all AV and stereo receivers feature a master power on/off switch to totally switch off the power and save further on energy consumption.

The first of the new Harman Kardon range will be available from July 2008, with the stereo products, and the new multiroom products releasing later this year.
